Residential Architecture
Our Typical Residential Projects
Our design experience and interdisciplinary knowledge of British house architecture is central to the quality of our house design services – as well as meeting your practical and aesthetic needs, our process involves making all the necessary allowances for the technical design and construction stage, so that your projects can progress as smoothly as possible.
Meeting Your Needs
Whether it is constructing an entirely new house or an addition to your existing home, change is almost always prompted by need. We always help our clients establish their needs and requirements as early in the project as possible, in order to ensure that everything is delivered on time and on budget.
Meeting your budget
At Benetact we believe that cost is a matter of design rather than construction. The term ‘value engineering’ has become quite popular in recent years and it generally has to do with compromising the intended aesthetics and practicality in favour of budget savings. While this is in most cases required due to unforeseen costs in delivering a project, we believe that the long-term consequences outweigh the savings, and advocate that once the projects objectives are clear, there should never be a reason to compromise.
Planning
Planning is the first administrative stage for every construction project. All construction projects should conform to planning law and guidance. Construction projects are subject to the local authorities’ planning policies, however, when it comes to residential developments, the rules, although slightly different in each local authority, all follow the same principles. In order to demonstrate compliance with the relevant planning policies, drawings and other relevant information must be provided to the local authority for each project. Construction works usually can only start once a project has been granted a planning permission, based on the provided information.
Building Regulations
As well as meeting the planning policy requirements, all buildings must also conform to the Building Regulations at the time of construction. A Building Regulations design would involve things like the structural design, thermal envelope, fire strategy etc.
